Antique 19th Century French Rouge Marble Mantle Clock made by well known French clockmaker Japy Frères circa 1890. This rouge veined marble and ormolu mounted two train clock is decorated with bronze lion heads on each side holding ring handles in their mouths.
The clock has a lovely chime that strikes on the half hour and the hour. The backplate is stamped with the Japy Freres trademark, an oval cartouche reading Japy Freres & Cie, Grande Med. D’Honneur, Exposition 1855. Pendulum included.
Measurements: Height: 23 cm
Condition: No winding key, the clock has a few chips on the edges, tarnish on ormolu, a few hairlines.
