Antique Art Nouveau German Enamel Iris Cigarette Case

Antique Art Nouveau German silver cigarette case featuring a hand-painted enamel design of blooming irises — a classic motif symbolising hope, wisdom, and faith. The sinuous lines of the green stems and the soft shades of violet, blue and oranger capture the organic elegance typical of the early 1900s.

The case is crafted in solid silver (stamped on the edge of the case, interior) and displays delicate enamelling in exceptional tones. It opens and closes securely with a push clasp. There is also monogram on the reverse of the case.

Condition: Loss to the enamel especially on the stem and on the iris lower right, a black mark and scratches on the top right, marks and scratches on the back, inside and edge of the case.
