









A 19th century French Ormolu and Marble Candelabra
- Description
This exquisite early 19th century French candelabra is a masterful work of artistry. The piece is cast in black marble and gilt bronze with the exceptional silver plated design decorated with a pair of snails and ivy standing on an heavy octagonal black marble plinth. The top of the plinth has a mounted malachite decoration together with a small quadrangle design surrounding the bottom of the marble base.
This three branch candelabra is adorned with delicate and very detailed gilt bronze leaves and buds. Each arm rises to a floral candle nozzles, each designed with subtle foliate collars.
Measurements: approx. 47 cm from the base to the candle nozzles, 24 cm width
Weight: approx. 4 kg
Condition: Wear and scratches, small loss to the bottom decoration and few minos chips to the base. Please see the images.
