Antique Swiss Silver and Cobalt Blue Guilloché Enamel Pocket Watch Pendant

A charming antique Swiss pendant watch, dating to the late 19th / early 20th century (circa 1900), housed in a beautifully decorated silver case. The reverse is finished in rich cobalt-blue guilloché enamel, overlaid with applied gold chestnut leaf motifs, creating a beautiful contrast that reflects the refined taste of the Belle Époque period.

The chestnut leaf was a popular decorative symbol in European design of the time, associated with strength, protection, and longevity, making it especially appropriate for a timepiece intended to mark the passing of life’s moments. Its naturalistic form also echoes the period’s fascination with botanical themes and the early emergence of Art Nouveau aesthetics.

The front features a classic enamel dial with Breguet-style Arabic numerals and ornate gilt hands, protected by a domed crystal. Crown-wound and presented in working condition, this pendant watch was originally worn on a chain or chatelaine and designed as both jewellery and timekeeper.
