A lovely Art Deco red and gold travel clock retailed by Mappin & Webb, London, dating to the 1920s–1930s. The clock features a beautifully styled case with bold red and gilt chinoiserie decoration, including stylised figures, birds, and pagoda motifs—very much in keeping with the exotic influences popular during the Art Deco period.
Housed within its original folding travel case with a faux crocodile finish and silk-lined interior, stamped “Mappin & Webb Ltd, Oxford Street, London W”. The movement is marked Kienzle, a respected German clockmaker, indicating a quality mechanical movement typical of high-end retailed pieces of the time.
